Hate

Sitting here
She contemplates
How she's wasted the years.
Her sorrow cumulates.

Staring at it
She hesitates.
Holding the first-aid kit
On the blade she meditates.

Looking at the blood,
How the sight nauseates.
The spreading flood
To him she dedicates.

Painting with red,
Her walls she decorates.
The memories spread
The pain it initiates.

Tying a knot,
She celebrates.
In the arms of a rope she was caught,
The relief it generates.

wow thats deep, there are many deep writes in this contest and yet this one caught my attention much stronger than many others i have read. nicely done and thank you for entering!

  • The title is what attracted me is your title. Then I say your name....may I say...genious. There are few in the world and that name is that instance. It's like you made poetry as tangible matter to carve into something great. The poem is painful and complex. To understand hate is like understanding love. The greatest hate comes from places you once loved. Explains so much about those feelings we all know.

just one thing i must mention; at times the continuing rhyme sounded a bit forced. i mean, it's clever that you've got one rhyme that continues the whole way through the piece but sometimes it was a bit too much.

anyways, good poem and thank for entering.
