a flower that rises with thorns from my soul.
my mind calls her name and she answers with vengeance
knowing I only want her to turn my eyes red
and destroy the trash that is set before her,
what I wish to not dirty my hands by touching.
a pathetic weak thing, though once I feared you,
as you trained me I surpassed and hated you.
yet the kisses you stole weren't just to cause pain
and it makes your suffering more delicious to know
that deep within you hide true feelings for me,
these emotions I pay you back for with blood.
the dripping cuts you once inflicted are reflected back,
I wish for nothing but the fear and surprise in your eyes.
I take your place at the feet of our master,
the throne before me means nothing except that you respect it;
he was the one that set me above you,
recognized my power was greater than your own
and now I am the one who carves your grave,
setting it apart with a sparkle of malicious intent
and digging it deeper with each slice of my blade
Author notes
The title "Karamete Yatsuzaku" in Japanese means "entwine and tear apart".
Okay, long rambling explanation. This entire poem is actually about an original character (Chou Kuro, or black butterfly) I created for Bleach, and this is the name of one of her attacks. Her sword "yamibana" means "dark flower", so that's what all the flower stuff is about. I've actually written a rather long, slightly mary sue, very angsty story about her, and thought I'd give it a poem. The person she's taking down is Grimmjow, the "master" is Aizen. etc etc.
Despite all this weird otakuness, I hope the poem can also be enjoyed if you know nothing about this fandom.

What a character!
My character was an elven gray mage with a psuedodragon as a familiar. Obviously, I'm a little out of touch. Dark fantasy is a difficult genre to write in. I like the potential that you show. You drew me in, completely. -
Otakuness? What does that mean? And I though that you created Chou Kuro for Naruto.... which doesn't mean you can't use here hear either.
The one time I don't read the author notes first... they actually would've helped me understand it while I was reading. Oh, well. That's ok.
I think I remember playing Aizen on Nintendo DS when you were at my house for New Years. He was my favorite fighting character.
Great write!
May your pencil never break!
