I smile as I take her hand in mine and spin her around. This is where I truly feel free, dancing under the twilight stars with her. Showing our bare love to the great Goddess of the Moon as she is reflected in her eyes. I kiss her gently upon those luscious, rosy lips I’ve sought after for so long. I have finally found the peace I’ve searched for...
I sit straight up in bed as beads of sweat drip down my face, running the course of the contours of my features. Slowly making its way down my neck to drip down my chest. My hand shoots to my chest as I gasp for air. The pain... Its unimaginable. Its as if a million scalding hot needles are shoving their way up through my chest, millimeter by millimeter making it as painful as possible.
I lean forward as my hand clasps my bed sheet in its grip, holding onto it as if it were a lifeline. My raven colored hair dangles around my face as my face contorts to a show of agony. Why must this pain come? I ask myself and the Gods alike. What is this punishment for? What great dastardly deed did I make to incur this such wrath?
The heat is damn near unbearable, I kick off my blankets and rip my shirt off over my head. I lay there, drenched in sweat in only my boxers, breathing harder by the minute. I look down at my chest and I gasp. Its as if the skin of my chest is boiling. My chest lurches forward off the bed of its own accord as a fresh wave of pain ensues from my chest area.
My back lands hard on my bed as I breath harder. A bead of blood slowly appears in the center of my chest and begins to drip down my stomach. Then a small hole appears where that bead of blood began. Slowly long black talons work their way out of my chest, slowly getting bigger as I look on in horror. Tears slowly form in my eyes as another wave of pain arrives.
Slowly I realize the long black objects aren't talons at all but fingernails. Slowly a long slender hand reaches out from the center of my chest as more pain comes with it, and with that pain, more tears and terror. The hand is long slender and gray, the ebony fingernails come to a point. Where they push themselves out of me. The light from the moon outside my window glints off the pale gray skin. Its as if the skin had an almost metallic look to it, but I know it to be flesh. My chest lurches forward off of my bed as one last wave of pain and nausea arrives.
Then everything goes black...
