Lover's Ashes

Waves wash upon the shore
of where our love once ignited,
but now waves grace across the
soon to be your tomb

It seems like yesterday we
had only just met, eyes glowing
and cheeks blushing, but now I
stand here grey with ashes for the sea

I hold your vase close to heart
and remember the times we
loved so much, wishing you
had never gone to that dreadful war

Sun setting like your life has set,
will rise but not with you.
You will not rise for me, but sleep
forever more

So I give your ashes for the sea to kiss
as the wind carries it forth and whispers
“I love you so and will never depart
from your loving heart…”

There seems to be much loss here, and I am hopefully concerned the author isn't feeling this way. Very intense, but marvelous poetry.

    Its good

The poem is really good. But, it has me extremely confused now. I'm not entirely sure as to how to respond to it baby. Try to help me understand.
