Not everyone's a poet. But I try.
Parse: to dissect a sentence and describe its grammar. But it is used in the field of computers to mean "splitting up a continuous stream of characters into meaningful tokens". Here it's meant to say "Listen and process what I'm saying". Perhaps not the best choice of words.
