Cherry blossom snow of softest pink
Adds magic to a street in any town
An illustration sketched in pen and ink
As further petals tumble gently down
The springtime grass has disappeared from view
Awkward branches strip away their dress
The sketch you drew shows London fresh and new
While carpeted with such a pretty mess
When all the pink has settled from the trees
The buds of leaves can start to change the scene
The birds will sing of coming summer ease
While magic pink transforms to normal green
On cherry blossom days you wrote to me
To tell me of the world that I should see
Author notes
I love the pink snow!

At the moment I live in a pink and white world and it is beautiful. Your poem does nature justice and your final couplet brings the human touch to this tribute to nature.
All the best in the contest...

Not bad.

Oh, I grew up in the Washington D.C. area with the cherry blossoms and now am surrounded by trees covered by pink and white each spring.
Yes, this is spring! Good luck in the contest

Wonderful! I am so familiar with this, as I have flowering pears in my yard, and we get "snow" every spring! I truly enjoyed this write to the upmost! Best of luck, and thank you for your entry.
