The ebony hair that glistens in the morning dew,
The flowers that open their eyes,
To embrace another sun-bathed day.
Those piercing beautiful eyes that flutter wide,
To see the woodland at it's finest,
Leaves of all shades of green and emerald,
Petals of violet, magenta and scarlet.
The wild mushrooms wrapped in their silk pajamas,
A second skin of woven fibres and threads,
And pearls of water slowly changing to lime,
The white dusted nature warming its bones.
The beauty and amazement from the dark lonely wood,
The unwelcoming place it was just night before,
Nature's song echoing amongst the bark,
Birds chanting there morning prayer.
The small cottage just along the way,
Deserted and lonely but yet enchanting,
Awaiting Snow White's magical touch,
For those clever little mine workers.
Author notes
Picture inspired - Snow White - Disney
OrangeMarmalade - For your contest, writing makes me happy, so to narrow it down, I've chosen my favourite image which inspired me to write this piece. I love watching nature change of a morning, and the idea that the world can be such a miserable and frightening place, everything seems to change in a morning, and all is beautiful. Hope this is an acceptable entry, if not, I will enter something else. Thanks and happy judging :]

I think it's lovely!
Yes, it can be hard to narrow down to one specific thing; then again, you could end up writing about writing or your own version of "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music. You certainly have a gift with expression and imagery!
