Where's the hope?

What lies in the heart of a man? I looked in the
Mirror and realised my face was a montage, a lifetime
Of memories and false lessons, I'm not fake, but on the
Surface I feel it's all a pretense, what lies in the
Heart of a man? And why do I fear something that could
Never kill, so now in this season of perceived wisdom
I send the world my bill, for the betrayal they dealt
Me, I mean since my earliest conception all I ever
Heard was what I could not, should not do, so why
Don't you tell me now, what is left, what do they
Feel I must, what can I do, what world is due me?
What lies in the heart of a man? A seed, this growing
Belief that they sold me deception, they gave me doubt,
But then where's the hope?

    A most interesting read ...

that has depth and gets to the heart of matters that most people seem to just accept as truth as they go about their mundane lives with their masks securely fastened. Keep mining and come up with the gems! joy

I hear you. Told what shouldn't do or cannot to do, that is the problem. Where is the green light in life? That seed in the heart of man is what is too often neglected.

This is very well put, very clear ideas and emotions. Though "hope" has been written about, this is a very nice poem in its own right.
