If Wind Could Whisper~

Should his voice be far
from my needful ear,

oh wind, could your whisper;
mimic his sigh
with tender strokes

through my tresses?
Touch my heart,

if only for an instant
as I savor simple syllables
of loves lullaby

in borrowed breath.

and this is the theme of this quick contest, a simple metaphor extended to a further message; one that the writer might intend rather than something a reader might find...or even invent.

    I held my breath when reading this beautiful poem. There is one-ness of dream and yearning. A touch of metaphor and personification. I have this prayer that it will happen for you! Frans

    You have used beautiful imagery here and such soft, lilting phrases. Yes, to me, the wind most definitely can mimic his whisper, his touch... such a perfect comparison. "Borrowed breath..." ahhhhhh. Dreamy. Love the personification here.

    As for us both writing on wind.... well, great minds....and romantic women . . . .

    the whisper of the wind, a wonderful analogy of a wished for presence, the wind is a whisper bringing the essence of a memory, such a delicate image here...simply beautiful poetry. Thank you for this fine entry into the contest and best of luck in the judging...PK
