With little solace and release
I came to worship your love,
a visitor kneeling at the alter
of your heart’s chapel, a broken man
seeking salvation from just one smile.
For these nights and
this day I offer you
my repentance.

This is very wonderful, and I wonder why you asked me not to consider it? Why wouldn't I consider it? It is lovely, concise and I think you know how I really like brief pieces that say so much. I also like your take on the contest prompt, and in stating what is holy to you.
Thank you so much for writing this and entering it into my contest. You should write more often, my friend.

What more could anyone ask for? Such a kind and heartfelt request for forgiveness! An amazing poet you are.

Yes, this is "holy" and sacred in such a soft voice, Scott. Lovely poetry.... so good to see you posting again, my friend. Strange how "just one smile" can bring salvation... I liked this.
