I pass beneath the chandelier
of marble white and beige,
as on we turn beneath the light
of rain and crystal flakes;
which now bead this floor.
Now as before, we twirl forth
glide along this marbled earth,
which cradles us and leads us on
to sweeter things.
The steeple’s bell remarks the time,
and still our hands lay entwined;
as I sigh ~kiss me goodnight~
But your gentle touch lead yet on,
and a smile dawns upon my face,
as I turn to ask of you again,
to take my hand for one last dance,
gentle man.
