The Precious Mistakes

Disoriented I Wander Aimlessly
Searching For A Release
A Simple Answer To All The Pain
I Gave You My Heart To Protect
To Keep Safe And Love
Broken, The Tears Roll Down My Face
Walking Down The Deserted Bridge
The Pressure Builds Inside My Chest
Relief, That's All I Needed
A Way To Cease The Pain
I Hear Footsteps Rushing Closer As I Jump
Falling, I See His Face
Grief And Hurt Light His Features
Serves Him Right For The Pain He Caused
He Toke Everything From Me
All That I Had Left Was My Life
Now That Was Gone Too
Sinking Into Nothing, I Wonder
Am I Making A Mistake
One That Not Only Hurts Him
But My Friends And Family
Darkness Surroundeds Me
Bony Hands Of Death Keep Pulling
My Time's Running Out
Heart Pounding Painfully
I Can Hardly Breathe
Then As I Think All Is Lost
I Can Feel Myself Being Pulled Up
Strong Arms Hold Me Tight
As My Conscience Fades

...

Lazily I Open My Eyes
Heavy From Exhaustion
As The Black Begins To Fade
I See The Pale White Glow Around Me
But As My Eyes Begin To Focus
I Realise Im In A Hospital Room
Worried And Scared, I Search Frantically
But All I See Is A Boy And A Single Rose
Worry Etched Into His Forehead
He Looks Into My Eyes, I Feel It Touch Me
Then He Begins To Smile
Stealing My Breathe Away

"Morning Sunshine"

Fissures On My Heart Begin To Burn
As I Recall The Previous Night
The Strong Arms That Rescued Me
Were The Same I Was Running From
Then As His Smile Faded
A Look Of Longing Crossed His Features
Confused I Stared Blankly
Getting Up From His Chair
He Approached The Bed Slowly
Placing His Hand On My Cheek
He Kissed My Forehead And Said

"Dont Ever Scare Me Like That Again,
I Thought I'd Lost You Forever"

"But You Left Me, Remember?"

"You Just Believed That Text Message
Without Even Confirming It"

"You Didn't Say That You Never
Wanted To See Me Again?"

"No, Never. My Friend Borrowed My
Phone And Thought It Was A Funny Joke.
But When You Didn't Reply Or Call
I Got Worried And Came Looking For You."

My Face Started To Burn
As Regret And Humiliation
Began To Cross My Mind

"So You Still Love Me?"

"How Could Ever Stop."

Then I Smiled, As A Single Tear Of Joy
Rolled Down My Hot Face
Leaning Closer We Held Each Other
Until A Nurse Needed To Check On Me
Once She Left We Just Sat There
Smiling Lovingly At One Another
My Mind Began To Wander
To The Biggest Mistake Of My Life
The One I Almost Lost

...

After Ten Minutes Of Enjoying
The Company And The Silence
My Best Friend And My Parents Crowd Me
Ecstatic That Im Safe
I Begin To See All That I Was
Giving Up, And Almost Lost
Ill Never Make That Mistake Again
