The Fear Is More In The Losing Than Loving

Afraid of love is not the
reason to run, it is more
in the losing or not being
good enough for another's
heart, when the past comes
back to haunt you, so often

It shows how one gave it
their all, with supreme
sacrifice to the other, and
where is she now? Not here

But I swore, I'd never forget
you, but do you still remember
me and the nights we shared,
the days we were together

I wanted to hold tightly to
you, but the ghost from
another life comes in and
takes control and won't let go

So, I will be secure in my
memories of what we shared,
than to deal with the possible
heartache of watching you leave me

I will always remember you...
the question is, will you
remember...me...?

Author notes

I chose this one: 51. I'm so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose
Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose
Once there was a darkness, deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light
And I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

  • I know that exact feeling, it's how my present relationship started off...when we were just friends. We liked eachother so much and loved eachother, but we feared being broken, so we tried to convince ourselves we didn't feel that way, but you can't hide love forever...

Alright, friend. Take another look at your write. There are tiny typos that make a huge impact to the reader. A couple of plurals where there should be singular, no biggie, but they scream out against this wonderful write. I love love this song, and I think you did a great interpretation of it. All my best, of course,
