dunn hall rm 406

I’m wondering, now
how many hours I’ve watched the sky darken
through sixteen panes of dingy glass

or walked over
leaning gently with my arms folded
on the upper sill and my breath fogging

counting tail lights
and watching the elaborate routine
of stop-n-go and honked horns.

I’m wondering, now
throat constricting as I take in
the painted bricks and groaning radiator

(there’s a question
circling the lot below for the perfect spot
to park, open and demand answer)

I can see
clouds coming in with the promise
of spring rain for the cracks in the pavement

I like this line the most. How you used metaphor to relay a message so simple yet complex at the same time. We all want answers but we must oft circle around the bush to finally beat it out of it. Great write. I am glad I read it. ~mandie~

I love this. How many times have I sat at some dull window, looking out at the world which sometimes seems so separate from myself. Excellent write.
