there is more here
than you can see
a reversed side of I
waiting for you to discover
all the uncovered lines
of a smile
turn your back on
to that past you want to forget
take a sip of my wine
and let us start to dance

I love dancing .... and if you go look on my page, you can see a short clip of me on youtube from 1978 dancing my bloody socks off!! LOLOL

but there is no way I dance like that now, but some slow soft music like Al Green or Barry White and good looking man to put my arms around and i'll dance the night away
but this isn't about dancing really, is it
..... smooth luv... very smooth
love it

The ultimate seductive invitation
to be interpreted and accepted
according to the reader's whim.

Yes, I enjoyed this poem... and the subtle hints that lie within, but after reading Yem's comment I'm so damn confused my head almost hurts. That's why I spoke on the poem first.

I can't see how he can refuse this beautiful invitation. Wonderful, concise poetry delivered in such a soft voice...velvet smooth, like velvet, like wine. Loved this one!

I can't dance... At least, not when I don't have enough booze running through my veins
and then again, I'm most of the time too angry to people who bump against me to dance properly

want to see that lol
I know about your dancing now, but still don't know if you liked the poem

Gimme one reason why I wouldn't like this poem

It has this magical, romantic feel to it, a wise lesson and ... well, too much praise isn't good for you

splendid
Mari,'take a sip of my wine
and let us start to dance'-this invitation in the last lines reminds me of a song,'summer wine'-where the words go'Strawberries cherries and an angel's kiss in spring My summer wine is really made from all these things'-'let pass some time And I will give to you summer wine'-but of course very different from your wine which comes with an invitation to dance
-'you want to forget'-
he desire to forget has to be there or else, you cant ,'turn your back on
to that past'-'I
waiting for you to discover'-this again has a very positive fresh begining ,fresh start feel to it-I have enjoyed your poem a great deal all of it

Red or white?

The lines of a smile are probably the shortest distance between two universes...the curves of a dance are definite patterns closing the distance.

Invitation to dance, and to discovery...such a wonderful appealing image, this poem is as soft as a sip of wine...beautiful...h

Of course Yem could have just said, "It's a poem about "letting love in" but no, typical, he has to bub for about 300 words.

Something tells me this is one of those poems you are going to show me how far off my comment is, so lets get the show on the road so I can be embarrassed and be done with it.

You know, this actually reminds me of something Artfullyme might write, it is different for you, a riddle of sorts, a challenge.
Here goes: There is so much depth to people, and most often we grasp the surface and are happy with that. To dig deeper requires a greater investment and desire. But that's what relationships deserve and demand, that depth.
It also suggests what might be hidden behind that smile, waiting for someone to ask, rather than to just accept. Of course in that situation it may not be the fault of the object, but that of the wisher.
And finally it speaks of looking back, seeing what was, what hopefully could be again...no, not "be again," bur rather be new and improved for the I don't think the speaker would ever accept going back to the same thing.
All in all it's a tale of experiencing and sharing what one truly has to offer beneath that thin veil (or maybe heavy mask) of smiles and pleasantries.
Ok, tell me how it is really about St. Vitus Dance or maybe about the coronation Of King Philip of Moxieland.
