She says, with the vehemence of arrogance,
her own innate knowledge of me
I cannot love you.
Can not
Love
You.
That if only I knew
what is laughingly told
the real you, I would
repulse, quail,
vomit up your past
shudder with retribution, inhale your
livid stink of self-analysis,
drown in dissatisfaction.
She says its intrigue, curiosity, a
naοve insensitivity lacking insight
she fails real awareness.
Yes, our history may connect but
that integral pause
screams volumes of denial.
None understand or
comprehend my value
a subtlety of character
a trait of fact ingrained
how I would love you
for who
You
are.
Not what
no matter your standing
on this infinitesimal stage
of inadequacies.
Millions may gape mouthless
as you straddle your consciousness
prostitute an art for
devoted legions, ants of nonentity
you swat into oblivion, unkempt.
But I would love you
if you were a
dustman of dreams, a
gardener of sanity, a
barber of emotions, an
accountant of souls, a
hawker of my life.
I would love you
for who
You
are
a human murmur of breath.
I would love you as
a hotly flamed voice or
an ember of devotion
to plague all memories
whispered into unfiltered dreaming
singing silent hopes to tread
on thoughts of anticipation.
I would love you unto oblivion
a sanctuary of salvation
unregarding and inconsiderate
of all that has fled before.
No matter who cries your name
no matter what they spit at me
no matter, no time now to matter.
I would love you
for you
as you
alone
and none else.
She says your chronicle of calamity
can contaminate only
deprive me of practicalities
a grasp on this real life,
but how I lack to care.
I would love you
if you were a
virus unleashed on my heart, a
tumour of my thoughts, a
cancerous conscience, to me
You are an
ecstasy of enlightenment, an
ascension untrodden, unworn, this
dreadfully big adventure, a
sibilance of angels, unchoired in fragility, a
tattering of bone and flesh, a
smile of new mourning, a
seven lifed cat of discontent.
I would love you
as you grace my mind
and to you I pledge
a statement of declaration
undisputed.
I would love you
to infinity
to completion
a compulsion untasted.
I would love you
for who
You were-
for who
You are
for who
You will be.
Eternal, ceasing not;
for your pain
alone,
I would
Love
You.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. And your vocabulary is stunning! I'm just a little jealous.
I'm sensing a trend in your poetry. Do you always use the stuttered beat I've seen in this and Johntime? Not that I'm complaining. I really do think it reflects thoughts, and even speech sometimes. Clever and insightful as it is prettily written. Kudos and keep penning.

This is simply astonishing.
The range of words is marvelous and the rhythm simply flows.
It's so inspirational and easy to connect to for me, that I'm just left without words.
It was so hard to completely understand and break down, yet so easily it melted into my senses.
Good work, I must say.

Ah..what a wonderful statments you have portrayed to bring the logic of your soul into the forefront..Indeed a touhing and very strong piece...
-
"of all that has fled before." - there's an extra space between "all" and "that".
I thought the end would be "will" and not "would". "I will love you", it would have seemed more powerful, in my view.
A good poem that you have written here.
