Amongst cold gray and blue steel
a yearning for my yesterdays,
grandma’s tranquil farmhouse
cool fresh water from the spring.
Buildings so high, bursting through
plump soft clouds of alabaster,
unfriendly people wandering
unaware of their reality.
I close my eyes, my mind travels,
caring and love fill my cup.
Lasting visions of contentment.

I've lived in town my whole life, but my grandparent's live in the country (or what used to be the country anyway). I visit them every weekend, and I can't help but to wish for a place of my own in the serenity of the countryside. I love this poem. I feel where it's coming from.

Grandma's tranquil farmhouse
Cool fresh water from the spring....
Was just thinking about my gran's old homeplace today..
Still standing...yet no one there...
Sad and beautiful at the same time but oh the memories I see when I look at that old farmhouse...
Congrats on the bronze...

Thank You!!
Thank You for Your entry: Lasting Visions
This piece tugged at Spirit and touched the Heart
with visuals to stain the Mind...
when I read: cool fresh water from the spring...
I was whisked away to an imaginary place~
it is strange and I have to mention...
I was also seeing the wicked witch from The Wizard of Oz

hearing word: Neighbor
and getting word: playdough as if it has significance...
pliable...now getting clay pots, vases etc...
like You are really Creative...I'm seeing as if You could do wonders in this craft....
seeing like Santa Fe...Southwestern Art...
While reading: nudged to mention~ Follow Your Dreams
and do You do Karaoke
like singing....hearing reference to Your voice
These lines grabbed and pulled~
Buildings so high, bursting through
plump soft clouds of alabaster,
Excellent take on the prompt~
Thank You for sharing Your Heart also Spirit!
Best wishes to You in the contest Sweet Soul
**Judging will be done shortly...
Many blessings too
and much love~ Desire~*~
