April's here at last and she
is shaking out her hair-
All the springing plants are wrapped
in April things to wear
and in she comes, so dainty, yes-
Tornados pinned beneath her dress,
Eyes alight with the flashing rain...
While new life springs from underground
in Texas, risk of death is found
hidden in the swirls of April's train!
Author notes
In Texas, April has a temper....

I like the play on words - "springing plants" and the tornado pinned under April's skirt as well as death found in April's train. So April in Texas really is the cruelest month, is it?
Thank you for your entry. -
Oh. This is quite some poem that you have going on in here! I suspected that April was going to have a bite in your poem, with the way that you did the title. I thought it was cute and my favorite part was the last couple of lines. I guess I've never really been to Texas so I wouldn't know about the weather there but it does sound like April is an ill tempered woman! lol

Very Good!

So absolutely true! (I live in Houston.)
Neat rhyme scheme.
