Eden In A Bottle

Your little "confinement" in desolation
is a paradise only the rich can afford
You're picking God's ashes from rose leaves

and hand grenade shrapnel from bird nests

while we fight wars against dreams, and kill the sky with radiation

You laugh your same sadism, smiling
at the blistered and scarred city
of drug addicts, alcoholics and pimps

while your "requiem for a dream" is
just another illusion in the godly clouds

    Thank You!!

Thank You for Your entry: Eden In A Bottle
This piece tugged at Spirit and when I began to read...
I was seeing the movie: End of Days
the scene when Gabriel Byrne who played Satan-
was urinating on the side of the steps and it turned
into like a trail of oil...leading to the van Kevin Pollak was sitting in ...You can imagine what happened next
But also seeing one of my favorite actors:
Christopher Walken when he played in The Prophecy
Now this may sound strange...after I read Your words
had to pause a bit...for the energy strong... and I could see a hand on Your right shoulder while You were writing this if that makes any sense
Looks like a ring on finger...and I am seeing a symbol
and hearing: Ark of the Covenant

    These lines grabbed and pulled~
You laugh your same sadism, smiling
at the blistered and scarred city
of drug addicts, alcoholics and pimps
    Excellent take on the prompt~

Thank You for sharing Your Heart also Spirit!
Best wishes to You in the contest Sweet Soul
    **Judging will be done shortly...
    Many blessings too
    and much love~ Desire~*~

powerful poem and I sense jealousy and anger. It is something I feel now and then myself as middle america vanishes and the gap of low income to extreme wealth increases. Fantastic job!
