Lovely Tahquamenon Falls

Tahquamenon Falls brings back
So many lovely memories for me
I think about my childhood days
When this word was familiar you see

I grew up in Michigan
A beautiful place to live
So many lakes and rivers and streams
Wildflowers and cat tails to give

My parents took a vacation
And visited the Tahquamenon Falls
They too had photos galore
And many stories they would recall

The freely flowing waters
Surrounded by lovely trees
Wildflowers blooming there
Something different everyone sees

We lived on the edge of Lake Erie
So we always had fresh fish to eat
My Dad and brothers helped clean them
So this was especially a treat

To me, fresh water fish
Are the very best to eat
Perch and Pickerel my favorites
There's a place for you, please have a seat

Fresh fried potatoes
With onion sliced in them too
Breaded fried fish
Cooked especially for you

If you haven't tried Lake Erie perch
Give some a try and see
It will satisfy your hunger
Oh so wonderfully

Author notes

I was born and raised in Michigan. We had rivers, lakes, inland lakes and streams. A wonderful place to live. I relocated when I was 47yrs. old, but still have fond memories of my hometown and other beautiful areas.
