~ the box ~

I had thought you were gone

All memories flamed in a pyre of goodbye

    ( then I opened that box )

You tumbled out….

A hundred stabs from yellowed reminders

A hundred tears to heal the wounds

My soul aches for the tomorrow that could never be

and the illusions that never promised more than today

full of a top-sized validation entree. slips in to wrap-flexed burn versions and oxidizes as it goes. the opening of the box will always be the best piece of anticipation without its closure. Nice poem maryande ~ Ed

I'd be a rich man if I had a nickle for every time I had this feeling. You know when you think your dreams are finally in reach and they vaporize right before your sleepy eyes at dawn. It's so good to see you gracing the pages of AP.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

This sounds like a profoundly private piece that I have stumbled upon. extremely well written with just enough to convey the story and feelings...
