At that time and in that place,
Eighteen thousand gave Liberty a face.
No names listed to tell us who,
These soldiers that I never knew.
Preparing to go fight a war,
Some not returning to our shores.
Yet here they stand united still,
Bringing Liberty to life at their will.
Calling to memory a different nation,
When being American meant celebration.
When being a soldier meant defending the land,
And big business had no blood on it's hands.
When eighteen thousand had the right,
To gather and bring Liberty to life.
