Now And Then

She rocked me in her old blue rocking chair
Then when I grew up, she told me life wasn't fair.
She dressed me up, in dresses and bows
I looked so cute, even my little toes.
When I was five, I lost my first tooth,
There was blood, and I was scared.
But, my mom was there and helped me through it.
Then I got the chicken pox, and had a big fit.
I itched, and scratched, but she stayed by my side.
She told me the rules, and sent me to my room when I lied.
Now I am older, but still get good-night kisses.
She holds me tight, and says:
"I love you, Anna".
