Crazy companion

Crazy Companion

I'm all alone in this cell of mine,
It's dark, cold and lonely,
Not even a shadow for my eye's to find,
Desperate for a companion - if only.

            "I'm here with you child"

My bodies shaking from endless fear,
The thumping of my heart grows,
Not knowing if the end is near,
But then suddenly my heart beat slows.

            "Do not fear my friend"

I lay down on the cold harsh floor,
Listen to the voice of my unseen friend,
Staring blind - scared no more,
Sweet echoes my companion till the end.

"Lay down my child, no need to fear,
Solitary holds no bars for i am always here."

Author notes

Ok well i hope this fits your contest. It is supposed to be about the solitary of a young girl who suffers from schizophrenia.
The voice in her head is the only friend she has and the only way she can survive her solitary.

I like the struggle evinced in your poem--solitary is hard to deal with. I am really good with it, but others, well, .

Oh, you have a typo in your last line.

Very nice. Good rhyme and flow here, love the idea of your conscience or inner voice comforting you when you are alone, in solitary. Thank you for sharing this with us and keep on writing!
