Lovingly Transformed

Skipping rocks,

upon the rivers edge,

an annoying little dragonfly,

led me to an amazing sight.

I beheld the waterfalls of mercy,

in shock and bewilderment.

Slowly, slowly I approached.

A waking soul,

lost and found in a thirsting trance.

No tears or agony.

Peaceful calm silence,

in softest flowing thoughts.

A mother's kiss,

of kindest assurance.

Greeting me with tender melody,

unfolding the music of my heart.

The low bass winds of insecurity.

Violins of hungered yearnings,

surrounded and enclosed.

Caressing, comforting and spoken,

in waves of powerful understanding.

Cleansing each delicate wound,

present and self-cast,

within and without.

Bathed in mists of innocence,

arms of love outstretched.

Rinsed and cleansed of misbelief,

that I did not love or find reward,

in myself.

I knew that day,

I would never need return.

For I beheld the flaming throne

of mercy's eternity,

transformed.

It was the dragonfly,

that carefully,

led me home.

Lovingly defined.

Please be merciful,

and kind to the angelic creature,

in our midst,

the tender dragonfly.

Author notes

Contest prompt: powerful one...transforming fragile into
fire, symbolic of the dragonfly, which I used to guide
her.
May we all fall in love with the beauty and intelligence
of the annoying little dragonfly.

WE lived in Montana
for 2 years upon a lake, and the only safe place to
swim was where the dragonfly's were, so we learned
to tolerate their thristy needs to drink from our
bodies the salt and moisture upon our flesh.
Unlesss you enjoy being devoured by mosquitoes.

I hope you liked it.

    The Dragonfly.

The Dragonfly is also a symbol of hope and healing to the cancer survivor. I found a wonderful piece about the Dragonfly in some items an antique store wanted to do away with. I love this piece but sure wish I knew where the other story was. Wonderful poem.

this is quite a beautiful revelation especially with the animation of the waterfalls. All of us need to be introduced to waterfalls of mercy that we may both receive and give of life's water.
    Thanks for sharing
