maiden in flames

eye for eye
tear for tear
scorn for scorn
and woe for woe

he died to save her
she died in despair
every story has an end
or does it?

a fragile heart
still seeking love
looking around every nook and corner
she dwells this earth

tormented, all shaken and stirred
like the juice of a rare black rose
the cries drown her once again
if only she knew

you can see it in her eyes
if only you could
as clear as glass,
and there it is...

a single teardrop mysteriously appears

"You know it's sad but true"

For once, I have come across a poem, AP or anywhere else, where I stayed focused on it. I have a relatively short attention span....

This was well-written! I was "moved" by it....
Thank you for giving me the wonderful oppurtunity to read such a piece as this

This is dark. I like this. Your emotion pours through every line of this brilliant piece. Why have I not seen you before? You are added to my favorites list. Beautiful dark writing here. You have talent.

Well you should not be too sensitive because this is actually good writing. While it holds a dark side, it also holds the readers interest and is not cliche' at all. The format you used works well for effect on the reader and impact of the poem.
Very well done and keep it up. Glad you entered. I will be keeping my eye out for more of your poetry.
