Children's knees all turn to jelly
Dr Who is on the telly
Behind the sofa, safety zone
Never watch it on your own!
Daleks kill without remorse
Cybermen are still on course
Master messes round with time
Aliens are funding crime
Old Pompei or New New York
Lumps of rock that learn to talk
Rifts in time in Cardiff docks
Nasty weapons have dead locks
The Tardis is a living thing
It can translate everything
Gets inside the traveller's head
Helps its friends not wind up dead
Since time and space are relative
We cannot know how long he'll live
Saturdays are bland and drear
When it's not that time of year
So kill the phone and lock the doors
Say goodbye to dreary bores
Hold a hand before it starts
(Not good for people with weak hearts)
All we ask is Earth gets saved
Shame on those who misbehaved
All adults knees have turned to jelly
Dr Who is on the telly

This is a really good poem. I refuse to move myself when the show is on. I usually watch it with my Dad or my brother and his wife. Very rarely do I watch it alone. LOL Enjoyed the read! Thank you for entering my contest.

WOW!!!!!! This is a really good poem. Love the rhyming. It gives me a view of how Doctor who effects different people. I can't say how to improve it because I don't think anything is wrong with it. Thanks and good luck

* bangs knuckles quickly and repeatedly against adam's apple and says, "Exterminate... EXTERMINATE!"*
My entire family now calls the barrells used to mark road maintenence Daleks. We call the ones with flashing lights on them centurians. I love his ambiguously sexual relationship with his traveling companion. It is a wonderfully written whimsical take on the future. Bunnies for you.

Oh what? Who doesn't know about Dr. Who?? Phil would love this-if he wrote poetry-which he doesn't-I'm waffling-
I'm not a fan-dare i say it-but this was fun to read!

Ooh yes, and those nasty Sontarans!
My favourite episode of all time has to be "Blink". As a writer, I can see how well crafted it was.
But strictly speaking, the rifts in Cardiff belong to Torchwood, not Dr Who (yes all right, I know they come into DW a bit!). Do I have to write a Eulogy to Toshiko?
Nice "pome", Jeff.

Wow doctor who. i rememebr watching the shows late at night on the public broadcasting channel when i was a kid. I would pretend I was sleep then sneak into the living room to watch it while my parents were asleep. Thanks for the throwback and i cant begin to imagine why they would tarnish such a wonderful show by trying to remake it.

We were all worried that they would spoil the memory but it turned out they did it superbly!
