Mother's song

Missing image
Framed
are the years upon my heart

where mother lays
gently within my soul

when once
a tiny hand
reached to clasp perfection

following softly
in the footsteps of the shadow
that shall never fade

and she sang
a lullaby of comfort and happiness
inside and out
of my entire existence

and even now
trying to remember the words
I hum the tune
tenderly into my childhood deliverance...
