The News

Stare ahead
Let your eyes scan the words
Don't let them fill you with dread
The truth these words carry out is no lie

A night not to long ago
All was fine, all was well
Yet your words continue to echo
Reflecting back and forth

The news so stunning, so brand new
Left my eyes glossy with oncoming tears
To think in months to come my final word would be adieu
Tell me you are joking

Who would think to take your life
You kept me alive, safe at night
Kept me away from that awful knife
Once you're gone whose left to save me

Those doctors are the disease
Continually ruining my day, my life
At first my friend they seize
Inflicting my heart with a syringe

Heartbeats unsteady, not normal
How long before the breakdown becomes daily
On the outside I act all formal
Pretend like nothing is wrong

A minute can not pass
When your lovely face isn't present
A delicate face like glass
Hard to believe in a few months those eyes shut

That news killed my mood that day
I couldn't handle myself that night
Any comfort I pushed away
Tell me you'll be okay, at least for me

That is the story I presented
About how my friend is to die
If only the doctors could have prevented
What ever is eating her from the inside

That is really good. I could kind of relate to this poem as well. I hope your friend is doing better.
