You gave me such a fright that time you fell -
to see you on the ground was hard to bear.
I ran for help outside I had to yell
and rang emergency to get you care.
One week ago your heart began to fail
the turns you had it scared us all so much
and though you’re on the mend you look so frail
I’d love to heal you with my gentle touch.
Our life will change when you come home to me
we’ll work it out so you won’t feel afraid.
I'll have to watch you carefully you see.
"Sickness or health" the promises we made.
So have no fear as I stand by your side
as once I did when I became your bride.

Author notes
3 Years ago Bob collapsed and had a defibrillator inserted in his chest. It worked perfectly up until last week when suddenly he collapsed at the bottom of our stairs in the backyard, I was inside and heard him fall against the railing, when I rushed out he was convulsing and there was blood from a cut on his nose between his eyes.I rang 000 went to the front door and yelled out to my neighbour Wayne. Bob is still in hospital and hopefully if he has no more serious turns he'll be home on Monday. But he will need someone with him for 24/7 as the attacks can still occur.

Joan,
This is excellently written. I remember that you told me about Bob. Is he doing any better yet? I hope that he is and you too my friend. I find that both of you stay on my mind a lot these days. Great work on the poem my Australian friend.

I'm sorry, I didn't know that had happened. I know Bob is in good hands both now and when he gets home. It's lucky that you were there at the time. I know all that must have been and will be hard on you. When he's feeling up to it, you should make him some cookies.

Yep! He likes scones so I'll make him some when he gets home.

wish you both togetherness in love for life!
Dear friend angelica, It shocked me to note that Mr. Bob had an attack and hospitalised. you are very brave and could help him to be admitted in hospital. Your Angelic services will bring him back to good health.I pray god for the health and recovery of mr.Bob. with love,

This is a strong statement of love and fidelity. I know that things will be better daily for you two.
We had such a scare with my sweetie when he had a clot in his lung four years ago, and then they also diagnosed a heart defect. We were anxious for quite a while with that, but with good care and courage, we got through it.
Every stanza contains a word describing fear - there is a good refutation of it in the couplet.
Many blessings to you both for return to health and happy life.

Thank you Sweetpea, I know Bob and I will be fine, once he gets his confidence back he'll be able to live without the fear of another attack, he has lost 5 kilo's in weight in less than a week and has become very frail looking, hopefully once he comes home he'll be fine with a lot of TLC. Love Joan

Dear AJ, I do hope Uncle Bob will be OK. It must be terribly frightening for both of you. Please give him our love and hope he's home soon.
Love Hine.

Dear Bea,
It's strange coincidence that when Bob had his turn, my Edna had a heart attack. So you and I will both be 'in the same boat' ie. unable to leave the house unless somebody comes to 'babysit' because neither Bob nor Edna can be left on their own in case they have another turn.
This is what we meant in our wedding vows: "For better or for worse; for richer or poorer; in sickness or in health".
Neither you or I are the sort of person in any way to shun our commitments.
Remember I am with you in spirit to offer prayers and support.
Applause for your poem, best wishes to Bob and love and hugs to you. XXX Hugh.
