Passivity

If I had screamed
Through the pillow,
Would you have heard me?

I’ve been screaming
For eleven years

And you narrate memories
Of it with your friends
And my teachers
And laugh

At the ridiculousness
Of adolescent
Mood swings.

Short and power-packed poem, screaming for someone to sit up and take notice. Good take on the prompt.
    Thanks for entering!

    Wow!

I kinda went through this as a teenager. The doctors diagnosed me with Bipolar II, but my dad, being embarrassed to have a daughter with a mental illness, wouldn't face that fact.
