A group
for poets and priests
for poets are priests
and priests the professors
professing the truth
against a society falling asleep
or fallen
for we all expect the right
and too few accept the responsibility.
So here we stand
at the edge of a battle not
against the freedom, but for it
in a country that preaches the word
and not its meaning.
We stand against comfort
for the truth is uncomfortable
and we tremble
but courage is not a lack of fear
but standing to confront the oppressor anyway.
So poets and priests are the courageous warriors of our time
and the Truth the tool with which the darkness we slay.
If there is one thing to believe
it's that with this and these the walls of evil will be demolished
and in its place a new world spit shined and polished.
But that's the after
this is the before
before the war when we're still casing our powder, the
powder being dug from our core, the
building of the arsenal.
Let us build
that we may not be destroyed.

My friend you have captured in these words a true declaration of society. I love the impressions of the poet and the priest and the warrior. Indeed we are at war in this age arent we.
Let us stand in battle and die or live as warriors; fearless, unwavering, unyielding in the face of all evil. let us be triumphant.

i need to come back and re-read this so i may produce a more thoughtful comment... overall, it is very good with contrasts that seem to pull the entire piece together...

What kind of group on Facebook??
I really like this... poets really are professors of truth in a way... for they reveal depths of emotion that are oft kept hidden by others. And they bravely talk about many social stresses that this world has put on people to endure... I always love reading those types of poems.
