Head down, Rump up

We laugh at silly ostriches
cuz we're too proud to duck
but tell me, have you ever seen
a weary ostrich cluck

It's time your image changes
you need a different face
for who had thought an ostrich
could teach the human race

if fear is what we're frightened of
then how can it be beaten
just stick your head down in the sand
and hope you won't be eaten

our hopes now grow and prosper
while danger passes by
for fear of death is not absurd
but I'd rather live my life

Wow. Thanks so much for entering. This shows me how, not so much as you view the world, but how you want to live your life. There in, it qualifies. lol. But I really did enjoy reading this. It's true. If you've ever watched animals in the wild, we can learn so much from them. Bats don't need light to see, we can sharpen our senses like them. I love the ostrich analagy. This is so amazing. Best of luck and good write.

Could it be that the strangeness which you feel occurs because of the changes in tone which are quite radical in some places? (Some parts are light-hearted like a limerick, while others seem more profound.)

Okay, so ya know i'm not just commenting for the reward. Lol. But I really like this poem I read the other 3 on your page and this is the one that I really enjoyed, and understood Lol. =]
But I LOVE the line where it say "For who had thought an ostrich// Could teach the human race." That was a good one.

Also the last 4 lines (The last stanza.) Is amazing nice job.
