In sunless realms beneath the waves
The midnight stars shine down
Upon that city’s foundered graves
About that time lost town.
Upon her streets the crabs converge.
Sea snakes of palest hues
From out her fanes throng surge on surge
Across wide avenues.
In palaces long strewn with silt,
The scene of pomp and sin,
Its fluted columns lurch and tilt
Above Leviathan.
In all this foundered continent,
In temples to the Sun
Both in and out each monument
The brackish waters run.
In parks where once great oaks would soar
Above the grassy lea,
Can now be heard the far off roar
Of tides above the sea.
When in some future far design,
Beyond all human ken,
The Fates will once more realign,
Atlantis rise again.
Please tell me what you think

The story of Atlantis is one I find very fascinating and I like the vivid scenes you depict in this poem. Fact or fiction, Atlantis was an important place that still inspires the minds of today. Perhaps it will rise again.
