On the bay of a beach,
lies the bed we once knew,
where the elements dealt their cards,
but we held strong and in unity grew.
You were my world,
and in turn I was yours,
locked inside eachothers arms,
resisting erosion from tempered shores.
But then the night came,
when God's wrath became too great,
destiny eventually makes fools of us all,
and it was our time to seperate.
Sometimes at night I still feel your arms around me,
and on my lips feel your soft gentle kiss,
in my dreams that moment lives on,
where we are bound together in perfect bliss.

Thank you for entering my contest, Poet. I have always believed that God puts certain people upon our path at specific times for specific reasons. Not all are meant to stay...but they are all meant to teach us a lesson we need to know, as we also teach them what they need to learn. I liked this line, as well: "resisting erosion from tempered shores." I have always loved the sea. Good luck, Poet.
