Silver lining through the clouds of darkness gives hope as a new day dawns
The tides subside again, as the one in my heart calms
A resting place for my mind, a sanctuary for my heart
Satin sheets bring comfort from the world that's falling apart
Secrets hidden away in the dresser drawers of my soul
But the window is left open, for the secrets left untold
The flowers bloom as a new day begins
Giving me hope for forgiveness of my sins
God's light is shining through the darkness of the frame
Letting me know that things do not have to remain the same
There are secret doors that lead to the happiness of all
We just have to look hard enough, so by masses we don't fall
Hope is hiding is every corner, look deeply and you'll see
The future of mankind depends on you and me.
Author notes
I did not plan to write in rhyme, it just happened. I was very attracted to the picture prompt, and felt the need to enter. I also like the idea of paying it forward, and I wanted to try to have a hand in it.
Good luck to all. Blessed be.

"Hope is hiding is every corner, look deeply and you'll see

Thank you for entering such a contemplative piece, Poet. I don't think Hope hides; I think we just become blinded, perhaps even jaded, to the possibilities, the absolute miracles, that are everywhere. I've always thought it was such a huge job to try to save the world (alone); however, if everyone just changed their own little corner, the entire world WOULD change. I also appreciated your comment about not being harsh. Writing poetry has kept holes out of my walls & my china intact for years.
I don't think life is a contest, to disgree with Art; I think it is a sacred journey replete with potholes along the way. It is not the stumbling that makes us who we are...it is the rising again. Good luck, Poet.

The second and the next to last line have erros, other than that I found this to be a nice read. Good luck to you in the contest and in life as it is a contest as well.
