Lie beside me through the night
I'm fading out of conciousness
though I fight it;
I don't even know you anymore.
Enter the house of never-ending spirals
clasp my hand, pull me downward, I will follow
Though each step colors the air with trials
the dread is warded off with the urgency
in your smile; your love, it guides me on.
Pull off the peeling walls in ribbons around us
the end is close, we're running for the finish
just one more time around will complete us
If only I could hear your words of reservation,
which you shout as I take the path of least resistance
bounding down, to the end, our separation
when I should have gone the long way with you.
The doors flit closed; your words
(never heard) fade with the slam
of wood banging shut
I pry one open, just for a quick goodbye
but don't fight the entrapment; the barrier
between me and you.

Excellent
Very interesting way you craft a poem my fellow poet. There is something about your style that I like. Keep it up. ~Peace~Gar

I have no clue why you said this was unworthy of being posted. I find it absolutely amazing, to be quite honest. The title was a great preview of what was to come.
"I'm fading out of conciousness.." The dream starts.
"Enter the house of never-ending spirals
clasp my hand, pull me downward, I will follow.." No control, redundancy of falling with(or for) the person dragging you along.
"just one more time around will complete us.." Perfect line to capture the feel of dreaming; having the same one(emotion) over and over again.
"If only I could hear your words of reservation,
which you shout as I take the path of least resistance
bounding down, to the end, our separation
when I should have gone the long way with you..." Concious thought slipping through now.
"I pry one open, just for a quick goodbye
but don't fight the entrapment; the barrier
between me and you. " The conclusion. Acceptance, if only fully aware you are just sleeping.
Like I said: it's amazing. I really did love it. Just goes to prove you should post more of your hesitant works.
