I entered a contest and got no comments"at all"
I thinked and I thinked is this all my falt
I got no comments on the poem I entered.
I felt like the judge didn't like my poem.
I was so angry and upset so I took revenge.

I decided I should stand up for my rights
Because that was so disrespectful I could almost cry.
I gave the judge a message... Did you like my poem? I asked.. Some people find it disrespectful and mean. So I wrote why didn't you leave a comment you see?
So the judge replied I am so sorry I was so busy I couldn't get to comment on every ones poem. But your poem was really nice....

What a big lie! I told my self
If the judge really liked my poem he would of gave me a comment. And write a comment how he really felt on my poem.

I agree. Yeah I think that if people place out a contest they should take the time to read and comment on those they read...but you shouldnt place a contest unless you plan on reading eveyone's. It happens a lot to me..Yet, wwhen I am a judge I make sure I read everyone's and comment as much as I can.

    AWESOME!

I cant count how many times this has happened to me, and I just let it go. I think it's awesome that you stood up for yourself. It's really frustrating when you put time and effort into a poem and it doesn't seem to get noticed. Great write. You have an amazing amount of potential as a writer. I think you are great all ready....when you get older, you are just going to be that much better. Keep on writing, don't give up, just like your other poem says...Never give up!

I understand exactly how you feel. When you have taken time and effort to write something for a contest it is a real kick in the teeth to not even get the poem acknowledged by the contest host. Often they are totally unprepared for the amount of entries they receive, but it only takes a couple of seconds to cut and paste a 'Thank You' to everyone for their efforts.

On a similar note, don't ever be dispondant if you don't win trophies in contests. At the end of the day it's all about personal taste. What one person likes another may hate, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your work.

Use contests as a springboard for your own ideas, to get the little grey cells working. In the end you'll find that if you write for yourself and not for praise from others you'll be much happier.

Having read some of your poems I can see that you already have a wonderful talent for one so young, don't ever let others get you down and keep up with your writing.

It's really frustrating when you take the time to enter a poem into a contest and the host does not even comment... Most times it is because the are overwhelmed by the number of entries...
Of course there are exceptions, I've seen contests with hundreds of entries that were all commented on.

I enjoyed reading this poem, glad you expressed your opinion like this, you just reminded me that I still need to comment on the poems in my recent contest.

    Thanks for sharing this write!
    Keep on writing!

you have touched on a common problem with many judges, they set up a huge contests, get overwhemed with entries and then are too busy too comment on them all.

it's like someone asking for a piece of your soul, and then throwing it away behind your back, because they are to busy to return your favor. I thank you for your entry, you were making some righteous whoopie on thier heads...lol..~~~Artis

You packed so much honest emotion into this poem. Nothing worse then Fakers and there are a few of them on here sadly. Good luck in this contest.
