Magical moments spent holding your hand
create emotional security
between our two hearts bonding in this land.
Whispers spoken when I look in your eyes
write encouraging words within my heart
as truth sings, holding me through the long nights.
Promises, given as bonds become strong,
lay the foundation on which we will stand
and walls are broken as we walk along.
Love's rainbow paints pictures of unity
as two heart beats become one throughout time
and I accept you while you accept me.
Visions of tomorrow show tender grace
where gentleness wakes me in the morning
bringing delight when I see your sweet face.
Dreams, forgotten when I gave up all faith,
are reborn with each ticking of the clock
and I smile as we welcome each day.
Today is embrace when it's spent with you,
for love is a rare treasure to be found
as our souls blend as one is made of two.
I give you my heart with all that I am,
for you to hold with the tenderest care
as we attempt to walk under God's plan.
As time passes, I pray that you will see
the love frowing within my heart
and caress it as it's given freely.
Our bond will be made stronger throughout time
as we forsake others and cling to 'we',
while I b ecome yours and you become mine.
Happiness in my heart is here to stay
and love is the gift I've placed in your hands on this, our first Happy Valentine's Day.

i wrote this for my boyfriend, donald ray manasco, for valentine's day when he gave me a promise ring. he broke up with me this week but i found it in my notebook and wanted to post it so that i never lose it. thank you for reading me. viyanna rosemarie
UPDATE: We are back together. Thank God, I was having no luck with being able to remove the ring he gave me as I felt so empty.

I have to tell you Iam moved on multiple levels. One the story it tells and the picture it paints are both so vivid and beautiful. How could someone NOT be moved. You would have to be like...dead inside. Two... well as I have responded all ready to your link... Iam still healing on this sort of level. It is encouraging to see that after 13 years of it...you bounced back. You found love. You are complete. Wow. I want that. My marriage only lasted about 10 months. I have been alone for 15...years. I just couldn't make myself trust again. I knew I would make the same mistakes over. I have made lots of really great male friends now but...

Aw, so sad to hear you have broken up. This is as great poem with wonderful imagery. " I give you my heart with all that I am for you to hold with the tenderest care" These lines are so much more moving than anything Hallmark ever made. I love this!
