Thanks Mom and Dad

Recently,I have come to see,
The best gift you ever game to me.
Back in 93,I thought the best gift for me,
Was for you to set me free and let me be.
Because of it you probably lectured me,
But you came me freedom to some degree.
You tried to teach me the dangers,
of older men,and even stangers.
You gave me room to make my mistakes,
And you were there to mend my heart aches.
You let me learn on my own,
That I have a lot more learning before I'm grown.
Oh what courage you must have had,
To give me the choice to do good or bad.
Now that I'm grown,I am aware,
Giving me the choice was how you showed you care.
I can't imagine how scary it must have been,
Thank You for resisting the temptation to control me back then.
You gave me the gift of love,
And trusted in God above.
Our Lord gave us the freedom to choose,
And with love you both showed me,
Have faith and I'll never lose,
Thanks for this gift you've given me.
