frozen fingers reach for adventure
from oceans, lakes and pools
the echo of water rushing
calm and familiar
I hear her call
for me to find my self
through water I will crawl
whistling wind
a lover's whisper
through the tough shell
of my bike helmet
"Gather your courage," says she
as she breathes freedom
into my soft white underbelly
rhythmic respiration
of animated existence
run through the pain
I know what I am made of
lungs expand
to fuel my flying feet
through every trail
and trial that I seek
from oceans, lakes and pools
the echo of water rushing
calm and familiar
I hear her call
for me to find my self
through water I will crawl
whistling wind
a lover's whisper
through the tough shell
of my bike helmet
"Gather your courage," says she
as she breathes freedom
into my soft white underbelly
rhythmic respiration
of animated existence
run through the pain
I know what I am made of
lungs expand
to fuel my flying feet
through every trail
