Maybe Tomorrow

Darkness spreads across the earth,

Bringing terror - but what's it worth?

The slaying of an innocent soul,

To reach an insurmountable goal,

The taking of another life,

A human being with a baby and wife,

All this fighting - but what for?

To try and stop a wretched war,

Murder, bloodshed, bombing, death,

One more minute till your last breath,

So many people under threat,

This slaughter you cannot forget,

The snipers hiding way up high,

Explosions in a darkened sky,

Gunshots ring from every corner,

Another death, another mourner,

Screaming as a loved one's slain,

Nothing stops the appalling pain,

Perhaps tomorrow all this will end,

Maybe tomorrow peace will descend.
