Attractive to many,
But destructive to one.
-------
He tried out for track
And did rather well
Until that sharp 'crack'
When he tripped and he fell
Out for the season
No longer can run
Searching for reason
That ended his fun
-------
Junior year now
And boy was he proud
Till the third day, then "ow!"
Before a small crowd
Out for the year
From Marching and ball
Now he does fear
If it is God's call
--------
A broken foot
And a year on crutches
And the sports?
Well...
If marching band counts
Then Justin's a star
Author notes
Honestly, I've never really had a major injury, so this was really hard for me. It's based on my friend Justin, who manages to get seriously hurt every time he tries to play sports. He tore a ligament or broke something in Track, and then in football a few years later, he broke half of the metatarsals in his foot. He was a cripple for quite awhile. But, he's since recovered. So, yay.
And yes, that's him in the Zoot Suit
