Each day when I wake up to greet the morning
Open my eyes and I start yawning
Sometimes I like to lay about and dream
Pull up the covers and be serene
So please don't wake me
Let dreams just take me
I'm happy where I am
Just leave me sleeping
The world is such a dull, unhappy place
I can't be bothered, don't want to face
Running all around, no time to spare
What's more important? who really cares?
So don't point your finger at me
Let me drift through this serenity
And I won't bother you
Just leave me sleeping
With one eye I can watch the world go by
Outside my window time can really fly
I can just stay here and stare around
While sleep takes me where I'm bound
So don't point your finger at me
Let me drift through this serenity
And I won't bother you
Just leave me sleeping
With one eye I can watch the world go by
Outside my window time can really fly
So please don't wake me
Let dreams just take me
I'm happy where I am
Just leave me sleeping

Your first line uses Each day, and every morning, maybe you could change that to "early in the morning" as to not be redundant.
I really like this write, it is so true that it would be so easy to just lay there and dream and be taken to the coziness of the realm. However, just closing your eyes to the problem doesn't make it go away. Wonderful poem, thank you for entering the contest, good luck.
