Blame Game

You came into our homeland
And killed thousands of us.
What did we ever do to you?
We are innocent of the blood spilt,
For we are a young country,
And--like a young boy--we cry
And complain:
"It wasn't our fault!
They started it!!"
And we sure as hell are going to finish it.
Even after your atrocities
We still just want to help.
We take a trip to your homes,
And offer some friendly advice.
"Believe what we believe,
Give us your leader,
So that everyone can be happy."
And to prove that we are sincere,
We kill your leader,
"Fix" your government,
And don't even ask for pay.
In return for our compassion,
You pick a fight with us.
We had no choice but to give in,
We are guiltless in this war.
You wanted revenge for our helping out,
Well that is just plain wrong.
You bombed us here, destroyed many lives,
And we forgave you all.
That war was not our paying you back,
But trying to help you out.
We are the victims,
Our people died,
Your people died too,
But...our people died...
So...you should apologize to us.
We have sacrificed so much
Because of your mindless killing.
I know it's hard not to give in,
But just follow our example.
Don't give in to acts of vengeance,
Or is that too hard to handle?
For our gracious acts,
We need no pay
Nor any sort of reward
All we ask of you today
Is that our words are not ignored.
And with that said,
We say adieu,
And go our separate ways,
But if you harm a single soul,
We swear to God you'll pay.

Author notes

We are always the victim, and act like we are trying to help others when, in reality, we are the ones who are seeking revenge. And, the greatest irony of all, we kill them for killing us in hopes that they may learn that killing is wrong.
