Just one moment
Of complete satisfaction
We constantly strive towards
But never really reach
Grasping
We try to hold on
To a life
We are not meant
To possess
To air
That slips easily
Through our human hands
Circumstances
Knock us off our feet
We think we arise
Victorious over life
Only to plummet
In a short while
To our deaths
On this planet
We mistakenly call home
We never realize
That all we are
Is a drop of dew
On a blade of grass
Waiting to fall
Onto the thirsty earth

A fine interpretation. It is well concieved, well written and though actually a little bleak it has the appearance of beauty. Rather like life I suppose

Thanks for entering the competition. Judging in a couple of hours.

Amazing!! You have taken the biblical verse and really breathed new life into it!!
So true also....
