This was the day
we where going to relive our youth
it ain't no lie, I'm telling you the truth
We had got it all planned
knew exactly how it would be
me being a cat
I like to chase mice you see
The day was going to be a whole lot of fun
watching my mate mousy go on the run
chasing up high
then down low
you know a bit like that...Tom & Jerry show
We used to run past the lady of the house
who would then shout, 'Honey, my God there's a mouse!'
Then she would clamber upon a stool
her knees knocking
Those days where cool
Even though we are grey
wrinkly and old
short sighted
knock kneed
a little bit bold
It was still going to be a whole lot of fun
running about the house like when we were young
So just like we planned
we where going to relive our youth
that ain't no lie
I'm telling you the truth
I knocked on mousy's door
he'd put that plan to bed
I found the blooming rodent
on the floor
DEAD!
