Beautifully Broken
It began with a pledge to never fall down,
Your smile enticed me and drew me in,
Angel eyes that weakened and drained,
From just the beginning i started to drown.
Love was never in my mind and never in my heart,
It began with a pledge to never fall down,
That touch that made me quiver with glee,
But i began to fall from the very start.
You swore you loved me with all your soul,
It wasn't long before i found that a lie,
It began with a pledge to never fall down,
And breaking that pledge took its toll.
So now it hurts to not see you around,
Beautifully broken is this fragile girl,
You took my heart and hope with your lie's,
It began with a pledge to never fall down.
Author notes
I wrote this poem thinking about what my ex did to me. After being together for 9 months and being engaged he decided to believe someone who had lied to him repeatedly over me.
Anyway i hope you enjoy an dthat it fits to the contest.

I'm sorry for your pain, I understand. Men tend to be so easily led - and "we" are the weaker sex??? I think not.
