Perfect

I wake from the reoccuring dream-
Of the big yellow dog lounging in the bed beside me
and the blue and green plaid comforter

It's a man's house
A man's blanket
The dog's a mutt,
and all of it is memories
Of a time when I lived
in a world of men and their tomboy sisters

The dog was mine then
and will be again,
The blanket one uncles
the mattress with no frame my dad's

it's a memory of my childhood
half forgotten,
hidden by the years of one home
and my mother's influence every day

Life of the child of two teens

--- is it wrong of me to miss it?

Please tell me what you think

I guess we all have memories of our childhood; both good and bad. My childhood was wretched, but I try to dismiss the bad and recall the good. I don't think missing it is good or bad; just part of human nature we must accept. As the the write itself, I had a problem when I came to the 3rd stanza ...

    The dog was mine then
    and will be again,
    The blanket one uncles
the mattress with no frame my dad's

might it be better to say,
"the blanket belonged to an uncle,

the frameless mattress  was my dad's.

    just a thought.
