Putting some light in the dark world

I see the way you look,
When others walk by
You stare at them shamelessly, with desire in your eyes…

This is what the world has come to,
It can only get worse with time,
In the eyes of the world, I am not beautiful…
Because I do not have the greatest looks.

I do not want to look gorgeous,
Wearing make up and tight clothes,
I do not wish to be paper thin,
Just to fit in this cruel world.

I am happy the way I am,
Invisible or not….

For there are some people out there, that still care.
And in their eyes, I know, one day I will find
The truth that they see when they look in to my eyes

I am fine the way I am, content with myself.
Knowing that I am truly beautiful, inside, and out.

The cold cruel world, needs to wake up from the dark, and see
That even though they think we don’t have beautiful looks,
We aren’t paper thin and dress in short skirts

We are still here, knowing what really matters.
